Cook Forest Canoe Rental is located in the heart of Cook Forest State Park on the banks of the Clarion River.  The Clarion can be described as a moderate-sized river with deep pools and numerous riffles. This river is truly a wild and scenic waterway with 51.7 miles of the Clarion  designated as a National Wild and Scenic River with recreational and scenic segments. The river is moderately fast as it flows through a beautiful  valley past undisturbed forests and steep-sided hillsides. The Clarion River offers a very scenic trip and is classed as a beginner's river under normal conditions.

The 7,182-acre Cook Forest State Park lies in scenic northwestern Pennsylvania. Once called the "Black Forest," the area is famous for its stands of old growth forest. Cook Forest's "Forest Cathedral" of towering white pines and hemlocks is a National Natural Landmark. The Clarion River is the eastern border of the park.
